for Hebden Bridge’s finest building

In times past, the Hebden Bridge Council offices building was the centre of local civic and community life.  We plan to make it once again the hub of our community.

Hebden Bridge Partnership, the umbrella organisation for community organisations in the town, is working in partnership with Calderdale Council to plan the long-term sustainable future of this building. Our proposals aim to provide a public space where different groups in the community will all feel welcome.

We want to provide facilities and opportunities for community use, including the reopening the old function hall (in recent years used as offices).  We aim to create a single access point for the delivery of public and community services, bringing together Calderdale, the town/parish councils and voluntary and community groups.

This is a landmark building in our town, in a prominent riverside location. It has served our town for 110 years, but now needs major investment to make it ready for the next century. It also badly needs some loving care.

This website gives access to full details about our project, including our 2007 bid to the government's Community Assets Programme and our current detailed proposals.

Our thanks to the 70 local organisations which have already given our project their support.
