Never economic?

If BT's objection is to the initial costs of installation of the enabling hardware in their calderdale exchange(s) rather than customer uptake or subsequent ongoing maintenance, perhaps they could set us a financial target of a contribution that would fund the installation. We could then, as a community group, do our own fundraising and target funding bodies that BT itself couldn't access. The target might be quite daunting, but better that than a flat "no".
