From Penan to Penang

Composer Richard Ingham (saxophone) with Mary McCarthy (accordion)

Artsmill, Linden Mill, Linden Road, Hebden Bridge

7.30pm (to 8.30pm approx)

£6 (£4)

From Penan to Penang, a sixty-minute suite for saxophone and accordion, is a series of musical responses to travels made in 2002 in Scotland, Ireland, England, France and Malaysia. The work is written for soprano saxophone and accordion, a combination whose unique timbral qualities began to fascinate Richard Ingham when he started to work with Mary McCarthy.
