Very interesting - if we'd slaughtered everyone with a cold or 'flu back in the 1920's we'd all be a lot healthier now!

Another anomaly, though - as it's caused by a virus, why are farmers all over the country washing their boots and Landrovers in disinfectant - surely this won't have any effect at all?
