I hope our illustrious town council - which has been salting away money for a CCTV scheme which, as it turns out, isnt going to be planned or provided by it (surprise, surprise) - hasn't let down the voluntary sector in Hebden Bridge yet again.

The arts festival is one of the most positive and unifying things in town, so it's a mystery to me why the Town Council don't just adopt it.

Given the scope of the powers of the council,it is entirely inappropriate that there is political representation on it at all. The Lib Dems just colonize it and do nothing because winning elections (but not exercising power) is all they are about.

Anyone with any info. about the Festival Grant, I'd be happy to hear about it. I fought hard whilst on the council to see it increased.
