Does anyone know how you get your hands on an allotmeny in Hebden Bridge? I've been to the TI and asked around but no-one really seems to know. Thanks

We are looking to move into Hebden Bridge area next year but are put off by the lack of allotments. What allotments there are have a substantial waiting list (e.g. in Tod) or are very small (as in Mytholmroyd)
The only idea that we have is whether it would be possible to buy / rent some land and set up an allotment co-operative.
But surely this has been thought of / already tried ?
