Stubbings Holme Road Bridge Damaged!

Posted by Jez, Tuesday, June 11, 2002

The old bridge that carries the Stubbings Holme Road round down to the likes of Trinity, Eton, Cambridge and Oxford Street has recently been damaged by a large (7.5tn?) lorry operating out of Wireform Co. three stones have been knocked backward and chunks missing from nearby blocks. The Council has deemed that part of the bridge unsafe and is intend on urgent repairs.

On speaking to Wireform I have been told it is nothing to do with them since they dont own the visiting lorries. If they took any responcibility in reducing the damage they fear liability for damage would be on them. So intend to do nothing.

Is anyone else annoyed with the Wireform company that is the cause for the stream of massive lorries down our narrow lane?

Yes I am too.

When lorries need access Wireform thinks the community should park considerately to allow the lorries in. When the lorries' drivers behave inconsiderately, which they do, Wireform say it's nothing to do with them.

Wireform doesn't care about the community it lives in one iota.
