That doesn't excuse the US, of course, particularly since one reason why Muslim opinion is against them is not to do with propoganda, but with US failure to support the Palestinians, and its foreign policy arrogance.
Not everything Western governments say, of course, is a tissue of corporate lies. I'd still rather live in a Western capitalist democracy than in any other kind of existing set-up.
