Good news for walkers

Saturday, 4 January 2014

Hebden Bridge Walkers Action has received funding from West Yorkshire Metro to promote the 901 bus to Huddersfield as a bus for walking.

The group will build on the successful promotion of the 906 summer bus, producing twelve walks along the route.

Richard Peters, chair of Hebden Bridge Walkers Action welcomed the extension of the service to Sundays and was expecting that the walks would be available by the Spring. Details of the proposed walks are available on HBWA website.

Last year, the Hebden Bridge Walkers Action group produced a leaflet and a section on their website to promote the 906 Bus. The 906 runs at Easter and then from May to end of September going from HB rail station to Midgehole, Hardcastle Crags and Widdop. The 906 was vulnerable to being cut, but Metro supported the HBWA in producing a booklet of walks to promote the route.
