Recycle Cycles: Wheel Power for All exhibition

People attending some of Calderdale Council's day services have been working hard to decorate wheels and frames from wheelchairs for a new exhibition.
The Recycle Cycles: Wheel Power for All exhibition will be on display at Hebden Bridge Town Hall until 26 July, as part of the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival.
The exhibition will display three bikes, five wheelchair frame side and several other bikes and wheelchairs.
All the work has been produced by the people who attend Calderdale Council's Adult Health and Social Care day services for people with learning disabilities, in Hebden Bridge and Rastrick. The groups have been working on the project for around two months in art group sessions.
The artwork has been created using only recycled materials, with donations of old wheels through wheelchair repair services. The idea of the project was to raise awareness of wheelchair users and also highlight the importance of recycling.
Calderdale Council's Cabinet Member for Adults Health and Social Care, Cllr Bob Metcalfe said, "This exhibition has been a great project for the users of day services at Hebden Bridge and Rastrick, and everyone involved has taken pride from seeing their work displayed in such a public place."
