Parade workshops start this weekend!

Fancy lazing on the beach, swimming with sharks or creating a ship of hopes and dreams? If so, then get down to the Handmade Parade open workshops which begin this Saturday (3rd).

And if you’d like to learn to stilt, samba drum, street dance or join the street theatre ensemble in the parade, there are special parade classes for each this year too.

The 10th annual Handmade Parade sails into Hebden Bridge on Sunday June 25th and this year’s theme is Sea of Dreams!

Sea of Dreams

Artistic Director of Handmade Parade, Andrew Kim says, “The 2017 ‘Sea of Dreams’ parade uses a nautical theme to explore the nightmares that divide us and our dreams for a new future. The emphasis is on fun and in enjoying the ridiculous. International, artists from Greece bring their advanced stilt and street theatre pizazz to Hebden Bridge”.

Over 1000 participants

With over a thousand people expected to take part in this year’s parade, organisers are urging families to be early birds to beat the crowds.
