Hebden Bridge Twinning featured on BBC Radio Leeds

Tuesday, 17 October 2017

The mid-morning programme on BBC Radio Leeds is in the midst of an exciting range of programmes on twinning in West Yorkshire – and we in Hebden Royd were included!

Twinning on Radio Leeds

Yesterday (Monday 16th October), Richard Stead from Radio Leeds was in our twin town St Pol-sur-Ternoise interviewing many of our friends including Deputy Mayor Claude Roussez. In Hebden Bridge, Oliver Woodcock interviewed Mayor Pat Fraser plus David Parry and Jane Jackson from the Hebden Bridge Twinning Society.

Pat gave a great account of her experiences of twinning since she became mayor.

Oliver then went on to the Hebden Bridge Picture House to interview Paul Knights from the friends of the Picture House. Paul described in his interview the money contributed by St Pol to help restore the cinema following the Boxing Day floods.

Naturally, in our interview we described how Warstein raised funds to replace the Junior Band’s instrument cases after the floods. We also described our exciting programme for our friends from Warstein and St Pol when they arrive for a visit later this week.
