Posted 16th July 2003

Stop press: Friday, July 18, 2003 - this event has had to be postponed because of venue problems.

Everyone is invited to an Open Day event at The Java Lounge and The Inn on The Bridge (on Market Street, Hebden Bridge) this Saturday July 19th.

Lilyhopping represents the emergence of wireless networking in the Calder Valley. Lilyhopping.net is a developing wireless network and the working name for a community based group involved in this development. The group provides a forum where people from all walks of life who are interested in wireless technology can come together and share in its growth.Ý

The group says that the possibilities of what we can do over wireless are huge and as it grows the benefits to the whole community could be massive! In fact, so enthusiastic are the group members that they have organised an open day event in Hebden Bridge this weekend where they will be hosting a range of demonstrations to show what wireless can do.

The event is being billed as a 'build n' game' day, to demonstrate how we can go about setting up a wireless network and when established just what we can do with one. ÝExploring the possibilities of local radio/tv, gaming, video streaming, live chat and business are all on the agenda but above all the group are there to welcome anyone along who has an interest and wishes to find out more. ÝClub members will be on hand all day to answer questions and share ideas, so why not go and meet them ‚ everyone is welcome!
