Upper Calder Valley Renaissance

Over 100 people attended the launch of the Upper Calder Valley Renaissance on Tuesday, 14 January, at Todmorden Town Hall. This work is part of Yorkshire Forward’s ongoing commitment to regenerating market towns and their hinterlands within the region. It involves working with communities in the Upper Calder Valley to create a masterplan identifying long-term investment projects that will help to regenerate and revitalise the area.

A further meeting is to be held at Calder High School, Briar Hay Lane, Mytholmroyd on Monday, 3 February, starting at 6.00pm and it is open to everyone who cares about The Valley and its future. Groups for Walsden, Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Sowerby Bridge and surrounding settlements, as well as a group looking at the Valley as a whole, will work with community planners, John Thompson & Partners.

Between 18 February and 1 April Action Planning Workshops will be held in the five towns and villages and a ‘Bringing it all Together’ planning event will take place at the beginning of June.
