New Head for Calder High

The Calder High School website has announced that following a two-day interview procedure involving Governors, Staff and Students Mr Stephen Ball was appointed as the new Headteacher of Calder High School, replacing David Scott. Mr Ball will commence his appointment on 1 September 2004 but will be visiting the school during the summer term.

Mr Ball is currently Headteacher of Ivy Bank School in Burnley.

Stephen Ball

Stephen Ball was the Teaching Awards 2003 Category Winner of the Promethean Award for School Leadership in a Secondary School in North West England. The judges saw him as an 'inspirational headteacher, turning around a school to make it a place where expectations are high, and pupils, teachers and staff are valued. He is visionary and exceedingly hard working.'
