World (Cup) Music at Trades

The Trades Club will be providing muisc related to the nations of the FIFA world cup.

Paid for by a grant from Awards for All, there will be percussion workshops for pupils form Calder High School in Arabic, Caribbean, African and Samba percussion before relevant games.

The pupils will then drum along with the games. For example there will be caribbean percussion when England play Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday 15 June and African percussions with the Czech v Ghana game on Saturday 17th June.

Javaad Alipoor will perform several Iranian folk songs at Half Time in the Iran v Portugal game on Sat 17 June (2pm kick off)

There will also be gigs that are free to members: Inemo Afrobeat on Wed 28 June. Other gigs are still being booked so check out the club's website.
