HB station

The hard work of the Friends of Hebden Bridge Station is starting to blossom.

Formed in late 2007 the Friends of Hebden Bridge Station are now starting to see the results of their hard work. Litter picks and planting sessions have become regular dates in the diary for the members, with bulbs planted in October starting to brighten the station on gloomy mornings (see photo).

Provided by Hebden Royd Town Council and the Safer Communities Partnership the bulbs, in addition to an area of new perennial planting were planted in October with the Friends doing the hard work. Aiming to brighten up dull corners of the station they form part of a raft of initiatives being developed by the group including a station lift and better waiting room facilities. The introduction of a bookcase in the station waiting room has been well received with regular borrowers adding to the selection.

'We'll also be taking part in the Hebden Royd Spring Clean this year' said Nina Smith, Chair of the group. 'Come along to the Station at 1.30pm on the Sunday 20th April and give us a hand, we'd appreciate it'
