Monday, 16 March 2009

May 2nd - 31st

A new event is set to take place during May this year. The first Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd Food festival has a huge range of events, including a farmers market, beer festival, foraging walks, “meet the local producers” and a sausage trail. There’s even going to be a biggest slug competition!

Polly Webber, manager of the Alternative Technology Centre one of the leading organisers of the festival, has:

“We want it to be a festival that celebrates local food and local producers. There will be events reflecting all aspects of the food chain. We are going to have animals in the square, a compost doctor, and a discussion panel on food issues as well as many other food related events.”

The festival organisers want to involve local food outlets in the event, by taking part in showcasing local food, and local food producers and ask that they get in touch.

“If you want to take part in the festival, either by showing your produce or helping as a volunteer, please getting touch with the Alternative Technology Centre.” said Polly. The full programme is available on the ATC website.
