If we're having problems with the 'Fustian Knife' planned for St. Georges Square, why not a put a sculpture of David Fletcher there instead? It would be far less controversial.

That's a brilliant idea. All the town's folk could use it as an alter to worship at. In fact, why don't we go all the away and re-name Hebden Bridge - how about Fletchertown, or Innovationville?

Surely it should be a statue of Bernard Ingham. I understand he's a bit of a local hero ;)

Hmmm, yes, Bernard Ingham. I don't have to spend too long debating whether he would be in favour of Garden Street or not.

Isn't it interesting to find that there are quite a number who share his perspective but would never admit to having such a similar outlook?
