Is Hebden Bridge strangling the Upper Valley?

With eight obstructions to the free flow of traffic within half a mile (traffic lights, pedestrian crossings etc) is Hebden Bridge itself guilty of causing the congestion we are seeing at the entry to the town during peak periods and not the vehicles trying to pass through the town?

Yes, damn those pedestrian crossings in the middle of towns. Surely pedestrians can fly over the road, or possibly dig under it. How dare they slow the relentless flow of traffic for up to 20 seconds? Humph.

I agree entirley with Ian M - let's make Hebden Bridge a pedestrian free zone. All those people wandering around disrupting the traffic - it's disgraceful!
