Oh dear! I do hope that Mick West's comments were offered in the spirit of Bernard Ingham. It's always a good idea to stick in a good controversial comment in the hope that it will catalyse an equally bombastic response. No, despite the healthy rivalry of the residents of Upper Calder settlements, (and therefore against my natural inclinations), I have to support the efforts of Chairman Brooks and others many who strive to maintain the Mythomroyd identity. That said Mick's observation has merit inasmuch as I have risen to the bait.
