Time to mow the roof?

Local eco-building contractors Green Refurb are due to launch the first of a series of educational courses next month. On Wednesday 8th October, a course entitled "Creating Green Roofs" will take place at the company's headquarters in Hebble End, Hebden Bridge. Helen Meade, the company's resident permaculture expert, will be running the workshop.

The full day course will cover the theory, design and installation of green roofs, and will involve academic and practical sessions.

"Obviously we're always happy to undertake work on behalf of our customers, but we're also keen to pass on the necessary knowledge and skills so that people feel able to undertake these jobs themselves", company director Chris Griffiths told the Hebden Bridge Web. "Our team of experts from across the sustainable building spectrum are always happy to share their knowledge. These courses and workshops offer an opportunity for people to learn new skills and as a result save the expense of paying trained professionals to carry out certain jobs on their homes".

Places on the course cost £70 and are strictly limited. For more information, contact Green Refurb directly on 01422 844716 or visit the website at www.greenrefurb.co.uk.
