Hebden Bridge Arts Festival gets an independent fringe,
"an explosion of DIY culture"

Fringe Festival

The first Hebden Bridge Fringe Festival starts on Friday night (27 June) with LaPuta at the Trades Club, opened by the Mayor and Town Jester at around 9 pm.

On the Fringe Festival website, the it describes itself as an explosion of DIY culture at various outdoor and indoor venues around Hebden Bridge, featuring sonic landscapes, fringe films, balloons, dragons, drums, poetry, storytelling, t'ai chi with green tea, outdoor art and much more.

The Fringe coincides with the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival, and the organisers say that they hope the festivals will "compliment and enhance each other".

There is a notice board for updates on the website and a real physical one in central Hebden Bridge, outside Holme Street Arts Centre.

The Fringe promises a weekend packed with activities: Saturday in Holme Street Arts centre, the park, and around Hebden: Puppets shows, Rappers battle, legomania and ballon installation: Sunday : Sonic happenings and mass pavement chalking around Hebden . . . and there is the Fringe Cafe on Saturday at Holme Street.

The Fringe website home page message is "Go forth and CREATE!!!"
