Open Meeting - Wednesday 9 December, 8pm, Festival Shop

Earlier this year Hebden Bridge Arts Festival celebrated Charles Darwin's theories of evolution, but next year it will be the evolution of the town itself that will be in the spotlight.

The theme of the 2010 Festival will be Routes and Roots and will link to the 500 year celebrations of the town's packhorse bridge and Hebden Bridge itself.

Organisers of the Festival are already booking major acts and working hard to present a packed programme with something for everyone. As well as the usual programme of high quality music, comedy and drama, the Festival will include a converted Routemaster bus which will provide a venue for small-scale workshops, poetry readings, monologues and magic.  Artists and performers are being asked to put forward proposals for bus events.

Anyone interested in getting involved in the 2010 Festival is invited to an open meeting on Wednesday December 9 at 8pm in the Arts Festival shop, Albert Street, Hebden Bridge. Everyone is welcome to come along to meet the organisers, offer proposals for events and volunteer to help.  The Festival committee is particularly keen to meet people who can offer fundraising skills.

The 2010 Festival will run from Saturday June 26 to Sunday July 11. To keep in touch with plans, visit www.hbaf.co.uk or email hbfestival@gmail.com
