Community Singing Lessons at the Trades

Saturday, 10 January 2009

The Trades Club has launched Sunday night group singing lessons with the aim of forming a new Hebden Bridge pop choir.

The open sessions are led by vocal coach Becks Roberts, singer in critically acclaimed band Becks and the Bullets who are making a name for themselves with sell out shows in Leeds and across West Yorkshire.

The aim of the sessions - suitable for all levels of ability - is to create a choir that can perform a set of pop standards at a special concert to be held at the Trades and the choir could also perform at community events along the Calder Valley.

“There are already choirs in Hebden but we wanted to create one that could focus on contemporary pop standards and with a top quality coach like Becks as their tutor we’re confident we can pull something special off,” says Trades Club spokesperson Paul Clarke.

“The aim to create a choir that can perform to professional standards and also to encourage more people in Hebden to find their own voices singing some of the best known pop songs of the last fifty years.”

The Trades sessions suitable for singers of all abilities aged 14 plus take place every Sunday from 7pm costing £3 per lesson and more details are available from 07707 551713 or becksandthebullets@hotmail.com.
