Mike Harding back at The Trades

Saturday, 22 December 2012

After a twenty five year gap folk legend Mike Harding is finally back playing live at the Trades on Sunday 7 April. His Radio 2 show has instrumental in reviving the British folk scene, but he is also a gifted songwriter and hilarious raconteur regularly selling out big venues.

Trades spokesman Paul Clarke told Hebweb: "It seems bizarre that last time Mike stood on our stage it was a benefit for striking miners so we have been chasing him for a good while now.

"Mike has always been a good friend to the Trades plugging our acts on his show, and regularly visiting the club to see them, but we wanted him to come back and do what he does best which is being a consummate live performer."

Since posting this news item, former resident of Hebden Bridge, Dan Thompson has sent us a copy of his ticket from the 1980s gig with the message, "Great to see Mike Harding will be back at the Trades. Here's a photo of my ticket for that particular gig (I don't have photos of every single piece of ephemera, but it was a very special gig)."
