Luddenden dances for charity

Friday, 28 July 2023

Every year sees a new Mayor in the village of Luddenden.

Throughout that year, they will hold many events to raise money for local causes, and also undertake a 'Mayor's Challenge' where they choose to raise money for their own choice of charity.

With the support of her husband, this year's Mayor, Taylor Singleton, who has recentlv become a new mum to 8 week old Norie, chose to do a 10 hour Dance - A - Thon for the Charity MIND.

The rain may have poured but the tents went up and the music played, villagers came and danced with Taylor throughout the day, brought plates to fill with cakes and pastries, which had been kindly donated by The Secret Cafe and filled donation buckets to overflowing.

Two dedicated children's hours were a huge hit and saw children leaving with sparkling tattoos and candyfloss.

By 8pm with with a very tired body and some very sore feet, it was announced that the day had managed to raise £1500!

This money will go towards helping MIND make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.
