Local photographer Charlotte Deighton’s studio features examples of her varied work ranging from portraiture to still life. She aims to show photography is a valid art form by using traditional techniques as well as modern technology.

I work at home. In the cellar I work with tiles. In the attic I make extraordinary patterns and in the living room I’m learning to build and animate digital 3D environments. Work is installed and exhibited throughout the house.

The studio is in a private listed terrace house close to the town centre. Framed pastels will be exhibited in the living room and up the stairway; recent paintings will be shown in the studio which is on the first floor.

Based in a working mill, Northlight Studios hosts a dynamic collective of artists and makers showing a diverse range of innovative new work. This includes painting, prints, textiles, mosaic, ceramics, handmade lamps and cards, jewellery, sculpture, decorative glass and photography.
