I am extremely happy to learn that Trevor Bannister has been given an award for his efforts after the great flood of Boxing Day 2015.

Needless to say that the floods were a very dark and difficult time for those of us who were directly affected, but I have been amazed at the resilience and positive cooperative action that has been on display in this valley since then.

Trevor took it upon himself to roll up his sleeves (and encourage many others to do the same) to clean up what was a huge and difficult mess.

Even after the initial debris was shifted, he has continued to work wonders with his gang of merry men.

In this age of selfishness and greed, Trevor is an inspiration to us all.

The man is nothing short of a hero.
