The Glorious Twelfth

From Mark H

Tuesday, 11 August 2020

I'm sitting in my hilltop home watching the lightning and hearing the thunder roll across the hills.

I'm worried about the poor grouse huddled down against the incoming rain. The last thing they need is a set of tweeded, moneyed and entitled folks using guns to blast them from the air, but I expect that's what they'll get.

Do you remember February this year when Hebden Bridge got inundated once more?

For goodness sake please don't go anywhere near the moors this week. Without the slaughter of the Red Grouse there's little else going on up above you. If you head out on the moors there would be a good chance you could devalue the shooting value of the moors and nobody wants that....
