Factory accident 1900

From Susan Tompsett

Thursday, 23 September 2021

I wondered if any body had any more information about an an factory accident in which my great grandfather was killed. This occurred on June 12th 1900, his name was John Hankin Shaw, and I believe he was the factory owner.

I have various newspaper cuttings with information about the funeral but no information about the actual incident that killed him.
My father was Harry Shaw son of Francis William Shaw who was John Hankin Shaw's eldest son.

I have always been curious about what happened so wondered if anybody has any information.
