Calder Ward Forum Grants

Saturday, 15 November 2014

The Council has made a total of £5,000 available for each ward to be spent by March 2015. The scheme is being trialled first within the Upper Valley by the Calder Ward Forum.

The fund must be spent on grants for activities and projects that benefit Calder Ward.

It must be a community group that applies, and that group must have a constitution (or rules), a bank account in the name of the organisation, and a safeguarding policy if they work with children, young people or vulnerable adults.

The maximum grant per application is £500.

The Neighbourhood Team is running the scheme for your ward. Due to the short timescale this year, the decisions will be taken by Ward Councillors and the Neighbourhood Teams and reported back to Ward Forums. In the future Ward Forums will be more involved in the decision making process and will be able to influence priorities and projects.

Your application form should be sent to the Neighbourhood Team for the panel to consider and it must meet one of the following priorities :

  • Priority 1 – The grant must be used to provide some form of benefit to the community – if you're not sure, please contact us first.
  • Priority 2 – we welcome applications from new groups who have not applied for funding before or from groups who have exhausted other funding streams.
  • Priority 3 – we welcome applications from groups working with or looking to benefit hard to reach sections of the community.

For an online form email wardforums@calderdale.gov.uk or ring Steve Martin, on 01422 392317.

Applications for this round must be received by midday on Friday, 9th January 2015 to be eligible for this round of grants.

Please don't be put off by the form - if you've got a good idea for a project, email us and we can help you!
