Wednesday, 15 November 2017

As the cold dark nights draw near and the hats and scarves start to appear, Christmas is well on its way and so is the Christmas light switch on!

Christmas Lights

This year, on Friday 17th November, Hebden Royd Town Council will be holding its annual Christmas light switch on in St. George’s Square from 4.30pm, with the actual lights being switched on at 6pm.

From the beginning of the event right through till the end, Hebden Radio will be there to supply you with music for all ages and are also presenting the fantastic performers we have for the event. This year there will be show stopping performances from The Peace Artistes, Bazzmatazz dance group and other local groups.

There will also be a guest appearance from Father Christmas himself!

Among all of this excitement, there will also be a free festive fireworks display followed by a chance for the community to share in free mince pies and mulled wine in the town hall!

And if one festive event isn’t enough for you then fear not as Hebden Royd Town Council, along with Royd Regeneration, will be hosting a second day of Christmas fun in Mytholmroyd the day after - Saturday 18th November, from 12noon - 5.30pm and will also feature a performance from The Peace Artistes, Bazzmatazz dance group and Hebden Bridge Brass Band! Free mulled wine and mince pies will be supplied by the local Co-Op.

The Mytholmroyd Christmas markets will take place across 3 locations in Mytholmroyd; St. Michael’s Square, St. Michael’s Hall and the Memorial Gardens, and will offer a wide variety of gifts, trinkets and foods and drinks. Over 40 stalls will be there to sell their locally sourced and handmade goods. The day will end with a free firework finale with free mulled wine and mince pies. It will be a night not to be missed!
