Dave Nelson's Christmas Singalong

Saturday, 15 December 2018
5pm, Town Hall

Christmas is rapidly approaching which means that it’s almost time for Hebden Bridge pianist Dave Nelson’s ever-popular, annual Family Christmas Singalong to ensure that winter holiday festivities get off to a cracker of a start. This year it’s on at Saturday 15th December at 5pm in the Town Hall, Hebden Bridge.

Old fashioned round the piano singalong

The event, a regular feature in town’s festive calendar for almost thirty years, is an old-fashioned ‘round the piano’ opportunity to sing along to all those favourite Christmas songs and carols.

Raising funds for Piano Festival

The Singalong will raise funds for next year’s Hebden Bridge Piano Festival, which Dave founded and directs. “We always put on free and subsidised events for families during the festival”, said Dave.“The Singalong raises money to help cover the cost of these”.

Fairy Tale of New York

As in previous years, local singers Wainsgate Waits will perform some four-part carols and, if you were there last year, you’ll be delighted to know that Gala and Alex Baldacci have been persuaded to reprise their storming version of ‘Fairy Tale of New York’. Mainly though, the event is all about people getting together and singing along with gusto to welcome in the festive season.

And mince pies

There’ll be mince pies, mulled wine and plenty of Yuletide cheer. As one happy Singalonger said, ‘Christmas starts here!’

Tickets, which tend to sell out very quickly, cost £10 and £8 (£3 for 18 and under) and are available both online and from the Town Hall reception desk (weekdays, office hours).

Tickets available online here - from Monday 26th November.

The Hebden Bridge Piano Festival is from 26-28 April 2019
