Parade logoHandmade Parade Workshops start this weekend

The organisers of the Handmade Parade invite you on an adventure, to meet strange and magical creatures, in the deep dark forests of ancient Europe. The adventure starts at the Handmade Parade open workshops which begin this weekend, on Saturday 8 June.

And if you’d like to learn to stilt walk, samba drum or dance in the parade, there are special parade classes.

The 12th annual Handmade Parade will be held in Hebden Bridge on Sunday 30 June and this year’s theme is Once upon a time, with elements of European folklore, myth, ritual and design.

Artistic Director of Handmade Parade Kerith Ogden says, "The Handmade Parade this year will bring fantastical creatures and imaginary worlds to the streets of Hebden Bridge - so come along to our open workshops with your creative flair and be a part of this very special community event."

With over a thousand people expected to take part in this year’s parade, organisers are urging families to be early birds to beat the crowds.
