Try Reading "The Lie of the Land" by Guy Shrubsole. He thinks you could stop the flooding by the Community buying the Grouse shooting estate upstream from Hebden Bridge, stop "Managing the estate" for Grouse shooting, so the peat bogs are reinstated, the moss that then grows, will absorb the excess rain and therefore slow down the run off into the river at Hebden Bridge, so hopefully it could stop the flooding.

The community gains an asset that should increase in value and the peat absorbs CO2, so it's also good for the environment.

Looks like a win win situation.

I think there are supposed to be Government grants to help with the purchase.
