Carlton Clock

Carlton ClockThe Carlton Buildings are one of the most architecturally important buildings in Hebden Bridge and for over a year its iconic clock has not been working, much to the dismay of local residents.

Now it has finally been repaired thanks to Hebden Royd Town Council.

After the building was converted in to apartments the clock stopped working, and unfortunately the landlords of the building did not see it as essential maintenance. As one of the most visible clocks in the town it was vitally important that it was maintained. Hebden Royd Town Council has worked over several months to seek permission to repair the clock and is thankful to the residents of the building who have been extremely accommodating in granting access to their homes to install new electricity feeds and lighting.

The clock was repaired just in time to see in the New Year and we hope that it ticks along for many years to come.
