Wanted: Treasurer for the Community Association

Hebden Bridge Community Association are looking for a new Trustee Treasurer to join the Board of the charity that owns and runs Hebden Bridge Town Hall.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to your local community, work with a fantastic team and utilise your extremely valuable skills, all on your doorstep in a vibrant, evolving organisation where your knowledge and expertise will have a concrete and tangible impact.
The Association is looking for someone with a background that includes finance/accountancy work, preferably with knowledge of the voluntary sector and who could bring those skills to the Board to help with financial decision-making.
The Association is at an exciting stage and this is great time to join. In the next year the priorities are to:
- develop a strategy to secure investment for the restoration of the Victorian part of the building
- continue to seek out new collaborations, building on the success of the Staying Well project
- secure grants to enhance the Town Hall's role as a community hub with a first-class community offer
- and continue to keep The Town Hall operating successfully with a focus on its long-term viability.
It's important to be aware that Hebden Bridge Community Association employs both a book-keeper and an accountant who prepare the financial records and ensure that financial control systems are maintained. They are also responsible for end of year accounts.
The Treasurer will work closely with the co-Chairs and Executive Director to help the Board take financial decisions.
