Erringden Hillside Flood Alleviation Scheme

Monday, 15 November 2021

Public Drop-in session - Monday 22nd November

The Environment Agency is working with Calderdale Council to design and construct a flood alleviation scheme for Erringden Hillside. The scheme will consist of highway drainage works to existing road and footpath networks, including gullies, drainage runs, kerbing and outfalls to the River Calder and Rochdale canal. The three main areas of work are above Stubbing Brink, at Hebble End and Fairfield.

We are shortly due to submit a planning application to Calderdale Council for some elements of the scheme including the surface water outfalls to the river and canal.

Ahead of this submission we would like to provide the opportunity for you to find out more information about the overall plans and answer any questions you may have.

A drop-in event will be held on Monday 22nd November at the Hebden Royd Methodist Church, 54 Bridge Lanes, Hebden Bridge. Please call in any time between 4pm – 8pm to view the plans and meet the project team.

We are also planning a zoom meeting for anyone who is unable to attend the drop-in, but would like to know more about our plans for the Erringden Hillside FAS. The zoom meeting will be held on Thursday 25th November at 6.30pm.

If you would like to attend the zoom meeting, at please email us and we will send you a link to join. The plans will also be made available on www.eyeoncalderdale.com after the event and you can email any questions to us at the above address.
