Update: listen again to Any Questions from a packed Waterfront Hall at the newly rebuilt Town Hall, Hebden Bridge

Thursday, 19 July 2012

BBC's Any Questions? to be recorded in Hebden Bridge

Town HallRadio 4's long-running Any Questions? political discussion programme is coming to Hebden Bridge. The programme will be broadcast from the brand-new Waterfront Hall, part of the Town Hall development, on Friday August 31st.

Tickets for the programme are now available locally, and are being distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.

Sarah Lister-Blow, director of Hebden Bridge Community Association, said: "We are delighted to be welcoming the BBC to our new Waterfront Hall for the broadcasting of one of their flagship programmes. The Town Hall seems to be attracting distinguished visitors at the moment: last week the Waterfront Hall was chosen as the venue for a policy announcement from government minister Andrew Stunell, at exactly the same time as Prince Charles was across the courtyard visiting the old Town Hall building. But it's also been encouraging that a whole range of community events have already taken place, including a fundraising concert for the flood relief fund."

Because of the anticipated demand for the Any Questions? broadcast, a limit of two tickets per household is operating. Tickets are free of charge, and can be obtained by on emailing the Community Association's administrator, or (for those without email) by ringing HB 845261.

Update: there has been a very large number of requests for tickets and there is now a long waiting list. No further requests will be accepted from now on. (25 July)
