A properly fitting bra is essential for a women's health. Sadly for many, buying quality underwear during a cost of living crisis may not be possible.
That's why the Calder Community Kindness shop and Winnie Dot lingerie in Hebden Bridge have joined forces to launch 'Supporting the Women of Calderdale'. This free event takes place at The Kindness Shop, Hebden Bridge marina on Thursday 26th October between 7-9pm.
'Women from our local community have kindly donated pre-loved bras to both our shops. These will be available on the night completely free of charge. I'll be on hand to offer fitting and best practice advice.' said Winnie Dot founder and owner Genelle Redmile.
Kindness shop manager, Catriona Lucas said, "In the current economic climate we all need a little extra help. It's great that women in our community are coming together to support each other. We'd like to encourage as many ladies as possible to attend. It will be a friendly, informal evening and there will be over 80 bras to choose from and free refreshments."
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month. "Every year almost 55,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer.' said Catriona 'Genelle and I will be encouraging everyone to check their breasts and be aware of the warning signs."
If successful the ladies hope to repeat the event next year.
