Merry Maker festival comes to Hebden Bridge
Friday 12 December (4-7pm)
Sat 13 December (midday to 4pm)
From Handmade Productions
This December, Hebden Royd Business Forum and Handmade Productions the team behind Handmade Parade, Halifax Starlight Parade and contributing towards Manchester Christmas Parade - will bringĀ Merry Maker, a brand-new family-friendly festive event, to the streets of Hebden Bridge.
On Friday 12 December (4.7pm) and Saturday 13 December (midday - 4pm), Hebden Bridge town centre will burst into life with music, giant illuminated puppets, street theatre and live performances.
Many independent shops will stay open late on Friday, joining the celebrations with festive refreshments and special offers for anyone picking up Christmas gifts.
Fran Sierevogel from Handmade Productions said, "Merry Maker is a two-day celebration designed to create a warm, inclusive and magical atmosphere for residents and visitors. Alongside our iconic puppets, you'll find pop-up performances, community choirs and artwork from local schools. Come down and join the festivities."
Helen Parnell from Hebden Royd Business Forum said, "Merry Maker is a real team effort. It wouldn't be possible without funding from Hebden Royd Town Council, a donation from the Riot Women production team and sponsorship from Hebden Bridge businesses including The Fox and Goose, Fratelli of Hebden, Fleur de Lys, Spirals, Daisy Bank Camp, Aliign coaching, Setbray and Fitton & Co. We're very grateful to them all."
Visitors travelling to Hebden Bridge for Merry Maker or other festive events can use regular bus and train services. A special Park & Ride bus will also run between Mytholmroyd station car park and Hebden Bridge on weekends in the run-up to Christmas.
