Calderdale Council Elections 2026: results
This year, the Calderdale Council elections are different. Instead of a third of the council standing for re-election, as normally happens, because of boundary changes the whole council is up for re-election.
Greens and Labour share Hebden Bridge and East Tod. Cllr Sarah Courtney (Labour Party), Cllr Hannah Louise Mickleburgh-Benn (Green Party), and Cllr Margot Puddepha (Green Party) are now our councillors.
Labour win all 3 Luddendenfoot seats - this ward covers the Mytholmroyd area as well. Cllr Scott Patient (Labour Party), Cllr Katie Kimber (Labour Party), and Cllr Kate Macdonald (Labour Party) have been elected.
Reform take Calderdale Council - winning 31 seats so far at 9.45 pm, 8 May. Brighouse, Illingworth and Mixenden, Elland, Greetland, Halifax Town, Hipperholme and Lightcliffe, Ovenden, Salterhebble, Rastrick, Southowram & Skircoat Ward wards have each elected 3 Reform councillors. Luddendenfoot elected 3 Labour councillors, Northowram and Shelf elected 2 Green councillors and one Reform. Hebden Bridge and Todmorden East elected one Labour and 2 Greens. Warley elected 2 Lib-Dems and 1 Reform. Sowerby Bridge have elected 2 Reform and 1 Labour. Wainhouse Ward elected 2 Labour and 1 Reform. Park Ward have elected i Labour, I Independent and 1 Workers Party. Voters in Todmorden West have elected 3 Green Party councillors. Ryburn electors chose 2 Reform and an Independent.
Calderdale Councillors after 2026 results:
34 Reform, 8 Labour, 7 Greens and 2 Lib Dems, 2 Independent and 1 Workers Party
Turnout up from from 34.4% in 2024, when a third of Calderdale Council seats were up for grabs, to 45.1% this time when all seats are being fought. Calderdale has been Labour since 2019, Before then, it was no overall control for many years.
